Phallic forms, expressive lines and a little Pope: meet Cyop & Kaf

Date
8 April 2016

Cyop & Kaf are a mysterious Italian duo, working across illustration, film, sculpture and a multitude of other creative endeavours. While their Pinterest board shows that they’re perhaps most comfortable making work on the streets of Italy, the work that caught our eye is this series of sensitively drawn but rather abstracted illustrations.

With a limited colour palette of red, blue, black and white, the abstracted but figurative images have something of the Russian constructivists about them although the fluidity of the lines gives them a more organic approach. From phallic forms to strange rabbit creatures, they’re as fun as they are mildly disquieting. Alongside these we couldn’t resist featuring the sweet little Pope sculpture you’ll find on the duo’s homepage, with his funny little long face and hat.
