Delfina Venditti's spot-on identity for Atonal sound festival in Berlin

Date

There’s something eerily disquieting and relentlessly cool about a festival identity that’s rendered in black, white, grey and concrete. Berlin’s Atonal festival needs very little to make it more cool, boasting a line-up better than any we’ve seen this summer, but Delfina Venditti has created a look and feel for it that manages to add that bit of extra magic. Taking place in the Kraftwerk venue (not to be confused with these guys), the identity takes cues from its location.

“We wanted to represent the spirit of the Kraftwerk and the music with these sculptural shapes made out by hand with stone, cement and acrylic and their fake shadows which create the movement and transformation of each shape,” Delfina explains. “The photos of these three-dimensional collages made of shapes and shadows has a bi-dimensional result making from these images something graphic. When the posters are pasted on the wall next to each other, the variety of shapes, shadows and their repetition creates a new layout even more atonal.”
