With Dutch Design Week drawing to a close, we were pleased to see Dirk Vander Kooij’s inventive brilliance recognised with another award – this time for Best Autonomous Design at the festival’s prize-giving. Dirk’s Endless chairs are made from scrap plastic – often from old fridges – and fashioned into things of real style by the designer and a robot working in tandem. This video made by Dezeen captures the process in all its glory and reenforces just how deserving a winner Dirk really is.
