Drawswords

Date
6 March 2012

Any graphic design job necessitates steering a course that appeals to both the client and the eventual reader/viewer – veer to much to either side and your career is likely to be short-lived. Amsterdam-based studio Drawswords, founded by Rob van den Nieuwenhuizen in 2008, marries these two (sometimes competing) concerns with remarkable skill, producing work that has its own creative integrity without ever forgetting what it is there to do. From promo posters to a students’ guide to the Hague’s Royal Academy of Art, Rob and his team display impressive flair and flexibility in equal measure.
