Bologna but not as we know it, thanks to designer Francesco Delrosso

Graphic designer Francesco Delrosso has spent the past few years making his way through undergraduate study and out into the big wide world of Fabrica, Benetton’s communications research centre. There he’s honed his skills in research-based design, putting them to use in the creation of all manner of print publications. Since leaving Fabrica he’s settled in Urbino where he’s specialising in communication and editorial design at Isia.

There’s a whole heap of great work in Francesco’s portfolio, but one project that particularly caught our eye was this unusual exercise in design criticism, assessing the branding for the city of Bologna. Francesco says; “My project is a critical book about the new branding of the city, designed by Michele Pastore and Matteo Bartoli; two italians graphic designers. The goal of my project was to talk about the new identity and the resonance that the system had on the citizen and the communal administration.”
