Illustration: More illustration from Laura Carlin to remind you that you're human

Date
3 September 2013

How’s this for some brilliant and yet innately human illustration? Since studying at the Royal College of Art Laura has drawn for a whole host of publications including Vogue, The Guardian and The Independent, and is a dab hand with a chunk of clay too, as her ceramics go to show (we featured a couple back in 2011). It’s her illustration that gets us going though. Honing in on a single melancholy gaze or the panic-stricken faces of a whole airplane full of passengers, Laura’s ability to convey a plethora of emotion through the smallest of marks is not to be sniffed at, combining childlike naivety with a sentimental awareness which had led her to this treasure chest full of lovely work. More please Laura!
