Jooney Woodward
It can be easy to sneer at people who groom their plants and livestock to a competitive standard, but take a closer look and you’ll realise what they’re doing is probably far, far more rewarding than what you’re doing (assuming you, like me, are on a computer). It takes the work of a young documentary photographer to really capture the joy in the agricultural activities, and Jooney Woodward does just that, producing a quirky insight into modern rural Britishness as well. The best part is, she’s just won the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize for her portrait Harriet and Gentleman Jack which was described as “a brilliant, empathetic study of a young woman.”
