karlssonwilker's new website features great identity work for Gus Gus

As serious art and design journalists, we’re not distracted by mere baubles. But when said bauble takes the form of an online game (think Space Invaders meets graphic design portfolio) then who are we to resist. It’s one of many trinkets to be found on karlssonwilker’s terrific new website, which shows off their work in the best possible light and confirms their status as one of the most accomplished design studios working today.

Although spoiled for choice quite frankly we decided to focus on this work for Icelandic band Gus Gus, for whose tenth album Mexico karlssonwilker took over the creative direction. After working on the video for the title track, the studio developed a new logo, album art work, posters, stage graphics and merchandise. This is holistic identity design at its finest, with every aspect of the project given due care and attention rather than a single vision blindly rolled out across different media.
