Lauren Hillebrandt: Flat Landscapes

Forcing absurdity onto objects and routines, photographer Lauren Hillebrandt turns them into sculpture (fun sculpture). She says she knows that “perfection goes hand in hand with photography” but has chosen to “ignore this pretension” and include the flaws of their creation into the final image. But far from killing the magic in her strange still lifes, this actually highlights the beauty of how anything can be created in front of a camera.
