Manuel Birnbacher's weird and wonderful look for a German house festival

NACHTDIGITAL was once described as Germany’s “best kept festival secret” but now with a cult following that snaps up its entire ticket allocation in minutes, maybe organisers can be a little more creative with the visuals they commission.

This year’s identity was created by the brilliant Manuel Birnbacher, a designer who works between Berlin and Munich and whose portfolio is an intriguing mix of hugely versatile projects. Manuel took on the festival’s 48-page magazine, posters and stickers and went with an extraordinary look and feel inspired by retro video game graphics. It’s weird, at times unsettling, it sticks in the mind and it shows that Manuel is a truly innovative creative mind.
