Michel de Broin

Posted by Bryony Quinn,

Michel de Broin creates sculptural analogies that playfully and articulately realise certain perceptive ideas the artist has about the objects and environments that we share. Be it the largest mirror ball ever made suspended above Paris (pictured), chairs that protect themselves as they are assembled into a sphere, a mirrored rock which suggests the notion of transparency is more distraction than some literal see-throughness, or the grand, infinite structure Revolution which subverts the destiny of a staircase to lead absolutely nowhere, his work makes you think, and smile.
