Among Michel Gondry’s many contributions to pop culture, the term “sweded” may be one of the most enduring. It comes from his 2008 movie Be Kind Rewind and refers to the practice of remaking classic films at breakneck speed on a low-tech video camera. Clearly not content with unleashing an internet phenomenon (with LOTS of Star Wars efforts) Michel clearly can’t keep away from his own creation, and recently posted this redux version of Taxi Driver online, with some classy Gondry touches raising this effort above the multitude.
