Swiss Studio Aurèle Sack makes typographic erotica with 50 Shades of LL Grey
We’ve had brilliant Swiss design coming out of our ears lately here at It’s Nice That: in the last few weeks alone we’ve been fawning over Dennis Moya’s club posters and the work of Johnston/Kingston, but we’ve not stopped looking mountain-ward just yet. Today we’re all about Aurèle Sack, a graphic designer based in Lausanne who confidently carries his country’s typographically astute baton. Aurèle teaches type and editorial design at ECAL, and has seen his work celebrated on platforms like the Creative Review type annual and the Swiss Design Awards. But when he’s not working on more sober projects, it seems Aurèle has something of a wry sense of humour. In one of the finest Fifty Shades parodies we’ve seen, he has created 50 Shades of LL Grey: a filthy pink book of erotic stories tastefully delineated in the LL Grey typeface.
