The Reel History of Britain

As a celebration of the thousands of non-fiction films – documentaries, educational, public and home movies – gathered by the British Film Institute and its respective regional offshoots since 1918, they have created a searchable archive. Divided into descriptive sub-genres like Railways and Teenagers, the latter of which includes a rare and wonderful film called We Are the Lambeth Boys made in 1959 – you can now gain insight into the collection that has contributed exponentially to British social history. And in naming this wonder trove, an essential pun has been put to excellent use – The Reel History of Britain. Thanks BFI!
