Tomomi Maezawa designs airy identity for Fabrica and Daikin collaboration

Date
27 August 2015

Earlier this year Fabrica collaborated with Daikin on a multi-sensory exhibition inspired by two traditional Japanese expressions that evoke human breath: FU and HA. FU echoes the sound of blowing something to cool it down, while HA recalls the sound of exhaling to warm something.

Tomomi Maezawa is a Japanese graphic designer and self-described futurist who was tasked with designing the identity for FUHA, an exhibition of ten different air-inspired installations that coincided with Salone del Mobile a few months ago. Her answer to the brief was a light and airy typeface that incorporated the subtle movements of paper blown by breath, and breezily drifts across exhibition posters and various neutral-toned applications as if floating through air.
