What’s On: Corinne Day: The Face

All the qualities of attitude that The Face magazine employed – freedom, informality, provocation, joyfulness – were exemplified by Corinne Day and her photographs. Hers was a lens whose focus was more foibles than high-fashion, her friendships and confidence in character expressed more of the beauty of being than the “supermodel in exotic location” prevalent in other magazines. Now Gimpel Fils in London is showing an exhibition from the camera that launched countless careers – in no small way Day was capturing the zeitgeist of the 1990s.
