Create a table out of anything with SNAP from design studio Be-elastic

Bigger is always better they say, but when you live in a flat or anywhere that’s not a barn this is impossible, as far as furniture’s concerned. Days spent walking around furniture shops, friends’ houses and skips armed with a tape measure and a recurring sense of disappointment can become disheartening even for the most optimistic shopper. You’re left with a choice; either learn carpentry or buy a table that will give you bruised shins every time you squeeze past. But fear not, for product design company Be-elastic has created SNAP to end all your table-top woes.

Giving users the ability to “transform any surface into a unique piece of furniture,” SNAP combines brightly coloured steel pieces, cables and elastic into stylish table legs that can clip onto any flat surface, allowing you to create a table out of pretty much anything. The project is on Kickstarter right now and with 22 days left, they’ve already surpassed their goal by an impressive amount. Yes the video is bit cheesy but bad acting aside, this is a fantastic idea and creates a ripple of innovation in a sea of Ikea LACK coffee tables.
