Ibán Ramón creates refreshingly simple identity for a Spanish food festival

Date

Valencia-based designer Ibán Ramón takes us on a culinary adventure with his series of pamphlets for Passeig gastronòmic, translated roughly as “Gourmet Walk”, which we believe is a foodie event that takes place in Barcelona and combines world cuisine, the outdoors and a smattering of street art.

Emblazoned with dynamic, slightly skewed type in fruit pastille colours, each pamphlet is for a different world city and has a corresponding menu on the back. So often you see posters and brochures for food events decorated with corny pictures and garish illustrations of food. But Ibán’s overlaying of typographical elements with colour coordinating, monochromatic images of the area’s street art is refreshingly sparse and gives the whole identity a lovely clarity.
