Illustrator Lili des Bellons' chipper images are full of geometric whimsy
Last time French illustrator Lili des Bellons was on the site we celebrated the different styles she was experimenting with. Still playful with her references, Lili has honed in on what she enjoys drawing in this series called Muro which she’s also made into a neat zine. Consistent in both style and weirdness, Lili’s geometric characters have a familiarity about them and it’s interesting how Lili balances her influences through enlarged features and vibrant colour palettes. But it’s the sprawling landscapes and strange scenarios her characters are placed in that inject Lili’s work with a bit of freshness. Bound together and placed in mag format, a very loose narrative begins to emerge within Lili’s chipper and colourful illustrations and it’s great to see her try out different ways of displaying her work.
