Lynnie Zulu's new solo show colourfully explores the female form

Date

It’s been a whole two years since we last posted about the marvellous work of Lynnie Zulu and we’re happy to have the illustrator’s vibrant world colouring our dull Monday once again. Her latest body of work is on show now at No Walls Gallery in Brighton and is a fantastically lively exploration of the female in all her glorious forms.

Colourful personalities are contrasted beautifully with brightly patterned backgrounds that fill the page and help bring these women to life. A range of characters are created in Wild Things, including femme fatales, rose-tinted dreamers and mysterious introverts, all laced with Lynnie’s distinctive style.

Still inspired by her Tanzanian background, Lynnie’s bold brushstrokes and tribal tones work excellently here in telling a story about each character. It’s her ability to bring so much spirit to each piece that emphasises the wonderful freshness and spontaneity Lynnie’s work has.

Wild Things by Lynnie Zulu runs until Sunday 23 November.
