Polish designer creates sculpture-inspired identity for arts festival

Date

Designer Marta Gawin flexes her graphical muscles in this beautiful and thoughtful identity for last year’s Ars Cameralis Festival in Katowice, Poland, creating a look inspired by the sculptures of Auguste Rodin. For the look and feel of the arts, literature, music and film festival, Marta created flat silhouettes of Rodin’s works as the main graphic theme.

Fluid shapes and gentle lines flow throughout and it’s great to see how the designer has translated the motif onto various bits of festival paraphernalia from posters to programmes. Marta’s composition is also lovely, as she uses the shapes to both frame and overlap information about the festival. And the dusky gold type used in the titles is the perfect match to the creamy purples, pinks and yellows in the identity.
