Mathis Pfäffli's spontaneous drawings are free, as free as the wind blows

Date
12 January 2015

We interviewed Mathis Pfäffli back in 2012 about his design practice and working day. The Swiss-born graphic designer has segued from the playful and considered printed matter that we’re used to and produced a series of large-scale pencil drawings.

Mathis has previously cited making, cutting, sawing and painting as key parts of his creative process; clearly utilised in this series of abstract, non-linear narrative drawings. The series maintains the quality and creative spontaneity of his design work, with an equally effective and entirely new outcome.
