Moby Digg uses basic colours and shapes for photo exhibition identity

Munich-based studio Moby Digg’s latest project is the branding and visual identity for the photo exhibition put on by the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) titled On the Go. Representing over 50 countries the show explores the “cultural differences as well as similarities between Asia and Europe under the guidance on an international jury,” according to Moby Digg.

More structured than the studio’s work we featured last time, the identity uses primary colours to act as a base for the work to move around. This is emphasised by the use of simple shapes that frame the photos in the posters and flyers for the show. The Mondrian-like panels of red, yellow and blue make the identity pop but the crispness avoids overwhelming the images. On the Go was held in Luxembourg at the end of last year and as well as a microsite, Moby Digg was also asked to design the show’s catalogue which displayed the winning submissions. Adopting a similar pared-back approach, the swatches of colour act as placeholders for photographs giving a neatly collaged vibe.
