ECAL student Simon Mager's polished posters and pared-back publications

Date
21 September 2015

German graphic designer Simon Mager’s website is a moody but slick portfolio of monochromatic works interspersed with splashes of cobalt blue and egg-yolk yellow. Simon is currently a student at ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland, a veritable hot spot for the world’s brightest visual communicators.

Among the sophisticated posters, it’s Simon’s project with fellow designer Nicolas Polli that caught our eye. LR Magazine sees pared back layouts and full-bleed images coming together for this first issue all about rituals and the habits we’ve unintentionally acquired. If this is the work Simon is creating now, we can’t wait to see how his style develops at ECAL and who his next collaboration is with.
