Grace Coddington: Calvin Klein

Illustrations by Grace Coddington have been animated for a series of campaign films for her book, Grace: The American Vogue Years.

Released on Calvin Klein’s Instagram, the animations feature Grace’s idiosyncratically characterful and cute fashion illustrations depicting the world-renowned creative director’s career. In the first, showing Chapter One from the book, she illustrates herself as a 50s schoolgirl, a 60s mod and then the spectrum of styles she wore in the 70s and 80s, culminating in her first day at Calvin Klein, New York in 1987.

In another she draws a collective portrait of some photographers she’s worked with over the years, from Mario Testino and Tim Walker to Annie Leibovitz.

The cover for Grace: The American Vogue Years has been illustrated by Michael Roberts. The book showcases Grace’s work from the last 15 years, and includes 295 illustrations.
