HORT's latest monochromatic work for Nike is both bold and refined

The power partnership of HORT and Nike is still going strong, and if Eike Konig’s recent updates are anything to go by the results are still very much slam dunkin’. We last featured the treasures of the HORT-vs-Nike Tumblr a couple of years ago, and the latest slew of in-progress works have adopted a monochromatic palette.

The Berlin-based studio’s new designs and sketches for Nike Basketball/Kevin Durant see huge, dynamic type swirling and framing Oklahoma City Thunder player Kevin Durant as he shoots towards an invisible hoop. HORT’s work – here a collaboration with Nike creative director Michael Spoljaric – manages to be at once big, bold and impressive but finessed and sophisticated at the same time.
