Beautifully designed Itineraries of Contemporary Cuisine is a cornucopia of superb photography

Now in its third issue, Itineraries of Contemporary Cuisine is a beautifully designed publication that features an ever-impressive roster of photographic talent. Set in both French and English, each issue of the mag looks and ten chefs in ten different countries. There is also a city guide at the end of each issue with a selection of the magazine’s ten favourite restaurants in one particular city.

With beautiful typographic choices and interesting, innovative layouts, the designs by Paris-based studio Helmo is the perfect foil for the rich, narrative imagery throughout. For this issue, the photographic rooster is as impressive as ever, featuring work by Thomas Albdorf, Alexi Hobbs, Go Itami, Francesco Nazardo and Thomas Rousset.

There are also images by the magazine’s co-founder and photo editor, Benjamin Schmuck, who formed the magazine with Fulgurances. Benjamin says: “This is not what you would call a classic food magazine; there are no recipes, very few photographs of dishes, or descriptions of the restaurants themselves. What we look for is the stories of the men and women behind these restaurants and food initiatives, which we bring to light through both articles and photographs.”
