Lynnie Zulu decorates her exotic characters in punchy hues and patterns

Date
30 June 2016

Artist Lynnie Zulu’s strength is her bold use of colour and pattern to form beautiful characters that are seemingly made from a careful selection of shapes and lines. We last featured Lynnie in 2014 for a series which explored the female form in various guises and while her focus is still on women, but her approach is now more polished with less obvious markings present in her images. This doesn’t detract from the energy within her artworks – her style is more refined and purposeful as a result.

Her latest works depict women as seductive and in control. Her joyous palette and meandering flourishes decorate her exotic characters, setting the mood for each piece. Still collaborating with fashion designers, musicians, magazines and galleries, Lynnie’s work stems from her unique take on the world.
