Matisse-inspired posters for Serbian Youth Day from designer Monika Lang

Date
28 August 2015

Belgrade designer Monika Lang’s set of posters and visuals for Dan Mladih (Youth Day) in Kragujevac, Serbia remind me of Matisse’s cut-outs but with softer, more rounded edges as though they’ve been created using those child-friendly, red-handled scissors we used as kids. The graphics feel wholesome without being saccharine as vibrantly-hued leaves and flora overlap and gather around the main body of text interspersed with multicoloured dots, dashes and symbols.
