Stills & Strokes creates flashy jewellery editorials for Interview Germany
We featured Stills & Strokes over a year ago for their project capturing glasses of smoothies at their most garish. Since then the duo, made up of art director and illustrator Melanie Homann and photographer Stegan Vorbeck, have been busy creating editorial spreads for multiple magazines, most notably for Germany’s version of Interview.
Rolex watches and Bulgari bracelets look almost cartoonish in Stills & Strokes’ sophisticated collage-style spreads. Bright coloured shapes and graphics dance behind the jewellery, with added chains and links that increase the lux factor. It’s the extravagant and ostentatious feel to Stills & Strokes work that I love so much as they fully embrace the glittering goods of this world; what sets them apart from others is their ability to do it in a well-crafted and composed manner.
