Curbside Haiku

Posted by Bryony Quinn,

We think that John Morse’s haiku street signs for the New York City Department of Transportation are sort of great, what with their universal road sign language and acerbic (if not mildly irreverent) humour. From the office of the DOT Commissioner, Janette Sadik-Khan – a figure of some contention in NY – these signs have been created for purely educational purposes and have spawned some wry debate with many hijacked haiku interpretations of the DOT’s motives for such a project.
