Dark Igloo's deliciously digital branding for Giphy will “melt your face”

Date
1 July 2016

Oddly named agency Dark Igloo sure knows a thing or two about gifs, heck it even created a whole film about them. It also knows a thing or two about making a superbly on-point visual identity, as seen in this identity for gif library and creation site Giphy.

The identity is as weird and digitally focussed as you’d expect, with even usually static business cards being transformed into moving images, using simple lenticular magic. Dark Igloo commissioned a fab series of artists and illustrators to create work to be used across
the range of Giphy including Animated Text, Julian Glander, Kidmograph and Skip Hursh. According to the agency, the designs aim to showcase gif artists IRL and melt your face."

As well as creating the designs that appear online and on stationery, Dark Igloo’s identity is also applied to a whole range of other brand collateral, including lighters and animated stings.
