Tucked away in a Tokyo subway station, arguably the world’s best sushi chef dazzles and delights his customers with his delicate fishy delights. But Jiro Ono – hailed as a national treasure in his native Japan – is coming to the end of his career and must ensure his legacy continues. Director David Gelb’s elegant documentary is a study of the pursuit of perfection, of family ties, and of an absolute master approaching his swansong. It is released in March, but this trailer should whet your appetite.
