Graphic Design: London studio Julia produce phenomenal book works
It was only a few weeks back that we featured Julia’s new Richard Sapper archive and celebrated their sleek, functional web design. But we’re so enamoured with their work we thought we’d show you some of their print archive too; in this instance their design for the independently published The Autorial Illustrator. The three RCA graduates have a knack for producing crisp, classic publications that buck all the ‘current trends’ in graphic design, focussing on legibility, functionality and driven by a solid understanding of what really makes books work for the reader. All of which sound like obvious considerations when producing printed matter, but it’s surprising how frequently we see them overlooked in favour of pure aesthetics.
