Don’t get upset, but those little sachets actually contain the pulverized remains of what once was your computer, garden rake, or toy car. D/Struct is the brainchild of Dutch artist Lucas Maassen and design studio Raw Color. Questioning what actually “makes up” an object in our increasingly digital era, D/Struct reduces everyday items to their most essential elements (via a blender). With a brilliant pop-up installation currently on display at the Design Fair in Rotterdam, visitors can purchase these colorful parcels plus a code which lets you download a 3-D scan of the original product. If this is how the future of shopping looks, I’m in.
