Slick, bold student identity for women's theatre company New Shoes Theatre

As university projects go, it’s safe to say this theatre branding by a designer who goes under the name Brandon mg is superbly considered and strong. Created as a live project at Camberwell College of the Arts, Brandon’s bold, direct work is something of a contrast to the company’s former look and feel, which you can see on its site here.

“New Shoes Theatre is a provocative theatre company, which produces work written by women all over the UK – it’s about giving women a voice and women having freedom,” Brandon explains. “I thought the colour blue would represent that in the best way.”

Brandon was briefed to create a new identity that was “clean and simple,” and avoided any obvious connotations with femininity. It’s a brave look that draws the curtain on any of the company’s previous design cues, introducing a thoroughly robust, powerful new design to be used across all touchpoints, including online, tickets, and printed materials. And not a shoe in sight.
