It was a couple of weeks ago now that I stood windswept on the stairs leading up to the Tate St.Ives. A beautiful, if blustery morning was elevated by the chance to see their brand new show The Indiscipline of Painting, and re-introduce myself to the wonders of Peter Davies’ work. Peter’s champion of a piece, Small Touching Squares Painting is not only brilliantly named but a real highlight of the collection and I urge you to go and see its magnificent scale given half a chance.
