We admit that science has never been our strong suit – a few half-remembered facts from GCSE and a collective crush on D:REAM-member-turned-astronomy pin-up Professor Brian Cox is about it. But even we were left dumbstruck by this video from The University of Tel-Aviv showing a disc of yttrium barium copper oxide floating due to quantum levitation. Truth be told we’re still struggling with how it does it (something to do with The Meisner Effect according to Wired ) but in terms of taking scientific research and devising a way to showcase it in the real world – this is extraordinarily creative. Mazel tov chaps!
