Things - We're waxing lyrical about balloons, vinyl, and some truly awesome illustration
This week, we got zillions of super-awesome Things in all shapes and sizes. They just kept on coming – seriously, the basket where we keep them is overflowing as I type. So it was a struggle to whittle it down to five, but we did it just for you and here they are, in all their glory!…
Matthew McGregor: The Life and Times of the Humble Balloon
This delightful little book from Matthew McGregor came floating our way the other day; it’s suitably light-hearted with lovely drawings and appealingly rendered concepts. Man this little inflated guy has some adventures. Very nice!

NoBrow No.7
The wonderful folk at Nobrow sent us this unbelievably amazing seventh issue of their magazine, and it’s filled cover to cover with mindblowing illustrations – as per the quality of the publication is also beautiful. With a variety of narratives, from children’s playground conversation to Adam and Eve, and amazingly rendered vistas reminiscent of the work of Hieronymous Bosch, there’s much to appreciate. Great stuff.

Baptists and Bootleggers
Baptists and Bootleggers is an exciting new venture from Callum Higgins offering a plethora of literature, art and music packed into a generous 12" package. …Of the Wolves, their debut release comes complete with a beautiful white vinyl mix tape, artist prints and other carefully executed tidbits, all dedicated to Dante’s masterworks, Inferno and The Divine Comedy. It’s also a not-for-profit exercise so you can relax as you listen to the tunes, safe in the knowledge that you’ve cleverly sidestepped evil, dirty capitalism for the time being.

Martin Fengel: Wachs
Martin Fengel is one seriously prolific photographer; regularly sending consistently great things to our studio. Pop his name into the search bar up on the right and you’ll see what I mean. This time he’s done another blinder with his project Wachs (that’s Deutsch, German, for wax) that glorifies everyone’s favourite malleable plastic, showcasing elaborately constructed multicoloured totems of waxy goodness. Keep on sending things Martin, ’cos we love it.

Soju Tanaka: Elimer
Soju Tanaka, in his infinite powers for the imagined, has created a complete world for character Elimer and his friends. It’s a place where inhabitants appear in a constant lean away from the elements (and sometimes carried away altogether), frequently ingest each other, amalgamating life-forces in the process and becoming double-headed cute things. In Peach Picking, Soju’s comics are at their best, follow him on twitter for a daily comics feed.
