Graphic designer and artist Geoff McFetridge unveils new works created from memory in NY show

Date
10 August 2015

Works created by drawing and redrawing images from memory by Geoff McFetridge are to be shown in a New York exhibition opening next month. The new pieces on show include ten canvas works and a number of other smaller works on paper. According to Geoff, the works are created by “drawing and redrawing an image until only the most essential pieces are left.” He adds: “The paintings are done in a process of putting pieces together, like a puzzle. Until the last colour is put down none of the colours make sense.”

The exhibition is titled It Looks Like it Says, and works also draw on the artist’s memories of growing up in Canada in the 1970s and 80s, and his present life living in Los Angeles. It runs from 10 September to 10 October 2015 at Joshua Liner Gallery Liner Gallery, New York.
