The stylised Eiffel Tower was designed by Dragon Rouge, reworking the iconic structure into a polychromatic ribbon that hints at the number 24. The number reflects the year that Paris hopes to host the games and recalls the centenary anniversary of the last time the French capital hosted the Olympics in 1924.

Paris announced its candidacy for the on the 23 June last year, having bid unsuccessfully for the 2012 games which was held in London. The announcement to declare the host city for 2024 Olympics and Paralympics will be announced on 13 September 2017.
