Refreshingly unexpected posters from Japanese designer Yutaka Satoh

Date
9 September 2015

Japanese graphic designer Yutaka Satoh’s posters are a fantastic mix of pastels, brights and ambiguity. Composed of abstract doodles and geometric shapes, the designer’s work is playful, uncluttered and rarely follows a pattern. Living in Fukushima Prefecture, many of Yutuka’s posters have been created for exhibitions and shows but some are just stand-alone creations. It’s the naivety and bizarre quality to Yutuka’s style that makes his work so endearing: it might be my monolingual brain, but the blend of Japanese script with glimmers of English text makes the work all the more seductive.
