The Conran Shop is the home of considered, curated design, founded by Sir Terence Conran in 1973.

While the installations for A Load of Jargon continue to take over the windows of The Conran Shop, Chelsea – from the floor-to-ceiling “Big Idea” balloon to the “Going Viral” ping pong balls firing through the air – inside has also been a hive of activity.

Throughout the exhibition Hato Press and South East Print Studio have been running a series of printing workshops with the public, allowing them to explore the theme of the show in their individual creative ways.

Hato Press ran the Jargon Generator workshop, where visitors to the shop could make their own Risograph print. Each print-maker chose their favourite jargon from the five installations (for example Easy Win) and two shapes, which they used to design a composition to be scanned and Riso printed.

South East Print Studio later ran the A–Z of Buzzwords workshop, exploring the type design behind It’s Nice That’s identity for the show. Each visitor chose their favourite letter from the identity, which uses the typeface Sporting Grotesque, and a paper colour, then screenprinted their own artwork.
