I know there’s been some murmurings of plagiarism surrounding Beyonce’s latest video, Countdown, directed by Adria Petty – but for a moment let’s leave those thoughts behind and enjoy its unadulterated pop perfection. All too often the biggest releases are watered down for the masses, but here we see a true tour de force from the director that has bought us countless previous blockbusters. Bright colours, clever editing, split screens, insane choreography all to frame a true legend at the height of her powers. Superb.
