It’s a cliche of the stand-up comedy world that hack gagsmiths often reach for a tried and tested “Aren’t men and women different?” routine, and advertisers too can be guilty of the same laziness. All the more reason to sit up and take notice when a genuinely good male-female spot comes along, and BBH London produced no fewer than five of them for AXE shower gel. Our favourite is this one featuring the hero’s attempts to win over “Brainy Girl” but there’s also Sporty Girl, Flirty Girl, Party Girl and High Maintenance Girl.
