Innovative Dutch photography museum Foam is 10, but is not using its birthday as an excuse to get all depressed and nostalgic, wailing drunkenly about where all the time went and trying to snog a younger museum to make itself feel better. Oh no, instead it has launched a brilliant project called What’s Next? A Search into the Future of Photography which looks ahead at what might be in store for this much-changed medium. Using top contributors the project explores issues like digital manipulation, the democratisation of photographic skills and tools and the online mores of presentation and exchange. Meaty stuff, and a great glimpse into where things could be headed.
