New work by Finnish illustrator extraordinaire Linda Linko

Date

I love that moment when big brands start to recognise the immense talents of illustrators who had previously been making work primarily for themselves, and duly commission them to do exactly what they do best. Linda Linko is a prime example; since being signed to Agent Pekka the Finnish illustrator has been gathering speed as well as commissions, creating her characteristically bold artwork for a number of huge posters and magazine covers.

And it’s on these quite specific canvases that Linda’s style really begins to come into its own. Her approach often has a collage feel, employing vibrant cut-outs and partnering them with rough hand-drawn type and textured edges. This isn’t her only trick though; she’s also at home with fine lines, Art Deco-esque scripts and chunky monochrome portraits. However she channels her skill, the work she creates is incredibly identifiable – bold and bright but also playful. Who knows what she might turn her hand to next?
