Reverse graffiti artist Moose creates London skyline with the Nissan LEAF

“To be an artist and for anyone to care vaguely about what you do is a great thing,” says street artist Moose in this fascinating new Nissan campaign, but his work is more important than most. As the inventor of reverse graffiti – whereby he uses a high-powered pressure washer to stencil imagery in the dirt that accumulates in our cities – Moose’s work asks questions about our attitudes to pollution in a very creative way.

For his latest work he has worked with Nissan to power his washer using the electric Nissan LEAF, which neatly reflects the car’s green credentials. In London he has created a string vision of the city’s famous skyline featuring landmarks like The Shard, Battersea Power Station and the London Eye.

The final piece near Waterloo Station is 2.5 metres high and ten metres wide and Moose says it’s the most intricate stencil he’s ever done.

“My whole ethos is about highlighting the amount of pollution we endure daily using a very positive harmless method that never fails to ask questions about what we accept and what we shouldn’t accept in our environment,” he says. “It’s a pleasure to be given the opportunity to create public art in this way and I’m very pleased with the iconic simplicity of the mural and its message."
