The whole ‘toy art’ debate… People still don’t know what to call them – to say they’re ‘toys’ is a misnomer because they’re not for kids and you can’t really play with them; to say they’re ‘vinyls’ doesn’t work since that could refer to anything from a 7 inch record to a piece of plastic used to cover the kitchen table with. ‘Adult toys’ just has far too many other connotations. Anyway, while everyone else is exchanging notes on the best way to describe this passing fad which refuses to go away, I’ve decided to give it the finger – just as an example of how amazing these adult-toy-sculptural-vinyl-art pieces can be. Called SLM, it’s by London based artist Sichi for Adfunture.
