New York-based agency T&T&T are in it for “$$$$$, fame and graphic bliss”

“I think my main ideal is to try and not take myself too seriously, and steer clear of the type of self-important vibes that one might encounter in our industry,” says Mory Talmor, founder of Talmour & Talmour & Talmour. Having made the move to independent practice just over a year ago, with previous employers including Sagmeister & Walsh and Wednesday NYC, Mory launched T&T&T in August. “After a while of working for (and learning from) other people, I felt like it was time to try and start my own thing, and finally have complete control over the music playing in the background,” he explains. “This might mean keeping my aesthetics light and fun (when possible) or by playing around with conceptions of high-brow Vs low-brow in my work, or just by trying to take things with a grain of salt when speaking passionately with client about a nav-bar in a digital-editorial-branded-content-hub.”

T&T&T’s graphic system for Berlin-based record label Malka Tuti employs a strong grid structure that allows teach artist to fill the blocks that comprise each record cover with the images that they want, but retaining a visual continuity. “The logotype and mark borrow from the multicultural nature of Malka Tuti’s musical roster to create the impression of both the contemporary and the ancient, the classical and the tribal,” explains Morey.

An entirely different project in terms of its design is the publication Advanced Search, a book that “examines the digital environment we experience daily… from a faux-anthropological point of view.” The cracked leather covers with debossed type belies the content that embraces the glitchy and unpredictable nature of how images and text appear on line – with some spreads descending into organised chaos. Other branding projects for the likes of Inbar Harari and Sol State show that T&T&T’ is able to shift from the minimal to the cheeky with ease.
